About 5 km southeast of Amlapura, are the ruins of a vast royal pleasure garden, built in 1919 and suggestive of a kind of esthetic delirium on the part of Royal Karangasem at the beginning of the 20th century. The base-reliefs on the surviving pavilions of the Ujung pleasure garden show the same elongated style found in reliefs in the Puri Kanginan. This water palace has three large pools. Furthermore, the architecture is combination between European and Balinese influence.

The remain of this glorious culture was damaged by the earthquake of mount Agung eruption in 1963 and was badly damaged again by the big earthquake of 1979. Although it is just the ruins left, the impressive spectacular of the past could still be seen especially the enchanting beautiful scenery.
